Educlipper, newly released by Adam Bellow, is a wonderful site for educators. Similar to Pinterest, at Educlipper users are able to create clipboards, post content, upload videos, embed links and images, re-clip interesting content, invite other to collaborate and share with followers.
Educlipper, however, also gives teachers the ability to create classrooms and student accounts. The site is free and web-based, meaning students can access their accounts from home. They create clipboards to collect information such as links to websites, images, video clips, and text. Each clip is neatly organized in its own post complete with a hyperlink back to the original source. Students can summarize, add comments or other pertinent information, can re-clip and share with classmates. When the project is ready to be completed, everything is neatly organized in one convenient place. Finally, teachers are able to maintain student accounts privately and to monitor submissions making the site safe and friendly! This site has great potential for the classroom!
